 Velcro ligatures

As we all know clarinetists to be experimental types (at least some are), I wonder about the experiences anyone might be having with Velcro ligatures. The manufacturer now offers material which is black, in strips about 16.5mm wide which has loops on one side, hooks on the other. Similar material can be bought under the trade name Get-a-Grip, but it's in stunningly brilliant colors and not quite as wide. I've tried Velcro several times on a German mouthpiece, and it's certainly simple to apply after the first use. Just pull off, push on. I still can't convince myself yet that it's wonderful, but maybe with some more playing around... who knows? Any comments?

Regards,
John
