I have the Oxford Press edition of The Intro/Theme & Variations byy Rossini and have been listening to Niedich's
recording of it. Is there an edition with suggestions/sample cadenza for the ending. Thanks!

Neidich is a bit out there in the showoff department, on pretty much anything he plays.
While i haven't seen the other two editions, the David Glazer edition from Oxford has the commonly accepted cadenza. Glazer's tempos are also the closest to the mainstream performance tempos.

Daniel is right. Neidich is his own man doing the music his way. The cadenzas are his. I think the one in the Rossini really fits the joviality (sp) of the music. I'd like to have the notes for it.
Of course, the idea of the cadenza is to improvise. It should be something of yourself, if you can. Make it a play one those first five notes of the theme.

I auditioned on the Rossini piece at Interlochen this summer, and was pleased with my placement. i love the cadenzas, and from what i know, Neidich tended to rush them- if not rush the entire piece altogether. after getting to know the piece, you should develop your OWN emotion and tempos for the cadenzas... that's what i did, and i recieved nothing but kudos!
