For Klezmer check out "Klezmer Collection" by Stacy Philips. Published by Mel Bay. For jazz maybe "David N. Baker's Modern Jazz Series" in particular "The Bebop Era: Volume I." Published by Charles Colin.

I like books a lot, but I gotta warn you, what your asking for is books on a music that is a primarily aural tradition.
You'll be better off learning the melodies by ear either from a teacher, or off a recording. It can be tedious but is ultimately what will help you the most. I believe it will also bring you more joy in the music making.
