Hello. I have an older (I think 1978) Selmer Paris France Depose bass clarinet. Serial number is A17xx. 2 piece, wood. Does anyone know an approximate value on this?

One of the ways to check the market is to click up e-Bay and go to the "completed auctions" section after you are on the Bass Clarinet auction page. They will have a listing of all Bass Clarinet sold in the past couple of months.
This is one sevice that those who complain about the e-Bay listings may not have considered.

And in fact is the only way you can find the current selling value of any clarinet - "book values" are a horrible mess.

Try calling a reputable repairman rather than e bay. If it is a good qwuality bass I would either keep it sell it at a value it is truly worth. In other words get it appraised by a technicialn and good luck! Sincerelyt yours Mb
