Listening to Artie Shaw CDs lately, I realize how manificent
a clarinet artist he was. Does anyone know what clarinet makes(s)
and model(s) he played ......... just curious ?

As I recall the posts, Artie played Selmers mainly, with some LeBlancs and a Buffet, prob. all loaner/gifts! Don

I have the answer straight from Artie's mouth, having interviewed him recently. Artie played Selmers during the big band years because as he said their sound would cut through better. He played on a Buffet later in his career when doing the small group, I assume he means Gramercy Five. He also did some work for Conn, but didn't play one.
