Paxman clarinets

Paxman were a UK based instrument maker specialising in French horns. They became part of Boosey & Hawkes sometime in the past maybe 30 to 50 years ago. One of the many names used by the various Boosey companies. I don't know why the Paxman brand would have been used on clarinets. Boosey's have used various instrument makers in the UK such as Reynolds Manchester and Higham's under their own name.

Paxman still are a UK based instrument maker, and still make ("French") horns.

I don't know whether Mark is right that "They became part of Boosey & Hawkes sometime in the past", but I'd be surprised if they were part of Boosey now. Neither their website nor Boosey's makes any reference to a relationship. Boosey's brass manufacturer is Besson.

I've never heard of a Paxman clarinet. I suppose it's possible it might not be the same Paxman.
