You should be able to go to a florist and buy florist tape, it's a coloured tape that is non-adhesive (white is the best colour I've found) that you can place on your bottom teeth and mold on with your tongue. Though it's non-adhesive it should stay in place and will help stop the lower teeth from biting through.
Hopefully that will make sense when you try it...
By the way, if you are cutting through your lower lip, you should probably consider how much pressure you're placing on the reed, you may be biting a bit hard.
cheers

Years ago we all used cigarette paper folded many times, then fit over the lower teeth.
Many products have come and gone since then. Most NG.
The very best solution to a sore lower lip is a dental appliance made by:
Dr. Harris Levine
Ft. Lee, NJ
201-592-1066
He makes and fits the micro-thin appliance in 2 office visits, with no pain, no fuss. The cost is about $60, and you're set for life!
Call him if you're not in the area, and he'll offer some suggestions for a local dentist.
Don't fool around with any junk in your mouth.
Good luck,
JJM

Try EZO denture grip. Cut it to whatever size you need, run it under
hot water, mold to fit and it lasts for months. I think several others
have replied to a similar post and recommended this with good results.
