 Gershwin "Walking the Dog"

Great clarinet solo which I've only heard in full orchestral contexts.
Any arrangements for clarinet and piano, or for clarinet with reduced instrumentation?

Hi John,

I've been hoping someone else might have better info about this than I do but no one has come forward. I don't know of any such arrangement though one might certainly exist. However, Gershwin did adapt the piece for piano solo under the title "Promenade." Leonard Slatkin recorded it with the St. Louis Symphony with (I think) George Silfies playing the clarinet solo. I just looked for it and I can't find my copy. It must be misfiled. Grrrr.

Anyway, Sheet Music Plus appears to have this piano version. If you're willing to spend some time, you might be able to extract a solo line for the clarinet leaving the rest for the pianist.

Best regards,
jnk
