Signe: Somewhere in the back of my mind is the hint that David Bennett wrote or at least put his name on those little "band books" from back in the 1930s-1940s. Is this what you are looking for?

Bob; I think the band books were by Harold Bennett which I believe was one of many pen names for Henry Fillmore. Dave Bennett was a composer and arranger of band music in the 50s and 60s. He also wrote a few solos and ensembles. The only ones I can remember are Blues and Badinage for clarinet and Deepwood for bass clarinet. There is also at least one clarinet quartet, but the name escapes me.If any of this information is in error GBK or Ken can feel free to correct it, I promise not to get p****d off. Dave Bennett also wrote one very successful Pop tune, Bye, Bye, Blues.
