Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair"? It's an arrangement of a violin concerto for clarinet, and it is GORGEOUS, but I can't find a place to buy it, anyone know of any place? I heard a recording of Robert Spring doing it, and it was amazing, so I wanna attempt it:) Thanks in advance!

Not a concerto at all, but a piece by Debussy called "Prelude No. 8, La fille aux cheveux de lin", though it's been transcribed for so many instruments I don't know what it was originally written for - I believe piano (I've played it on both piano and guitar, and I seem to remember that the piano version is the original). Transcriptions for clarinet are pretty easy to find.

Mark is right, it's a work originally written for piano. French titled "Le Fille aux Cheveux". Clik on the following link and you can actually purchase 2 different versions:

This is a very simple tune. You can play this without a sheet music.
(and it's a fun to play a song without paper sometimes.)

You should alos try the Piece in a form of An Habenera by Ravel which is quite spanish but straight forward and very pretty as well!

How about the arrangement of Ravel's "Pavane pour l'enfant defuncte(sp?)" for clarinet and piano - another georgeous piece of the same genre. (Though I much prefer the orchestral arrangement -- it was too originally a piano piece btw)
