Hi all,
I have to do two recitals in July and I need some really light and cheesy music to play. I am already doing "Romance" by Edward German and "Introduction and Variations on the Theme of Puritani".
Any other suggestions?

Why light and cheesy? Semi-cheesy; Adagio and Tarantella by Cavalini.Cheesy; Variations on Long,Long Ago by Reinholt Ritter (Tex's cousin, I think. ) True Velveeta Lite; Blues and Badinage by Dave Bennett

Immer Kleiner- the piece where you take apart your clarinet, piece by piece. Cheesy and fun. And, of course, the Clarinet Polka.

Steve -
The "finger wiggler" theme and variations solos on opera tunes are perfect light music. Carl Fischer has had a series of these in print forever, edited by Gustave Langenus. They're really cheap, too. My favorite is the Erwin Fantaisie by Meister, but they're all great fun.
Another possibility is to get a book of familiar classic songs, such as the Stephen Foster Songbook. Anybody can be a virtuoso on the fast notes, but very few are virtuosos on the slow notes - able to sing on the instrument - to move people's hearts with a simple melody.
Play a song to someone specific. Look straight at the girl you've got a crush on, and bring a tear to her eye. Or imagine your grandmother sitting in the audience, and play your love to her.
Best regards.
