Hello,
I'm a UK player returning to the clarinet after a 10 year gap, and I'm hoping someone can help me out with a query.
I'm looking for the name/composer of a piece of music I played for my grade 5 exam several years ago.(UK, associated board). I don't have very much to go on I'm afraid, except that the piece is kind of "divided into two" . The first half is fairly slow, in 3/4 time and the second half is a long section of fast triplets over several octaves.
If anyone has any idea at all what this might be, i'd be really grateful if you could let me know. Sorry for the sketchy details, but it's really all I can remember!
Many thanks
Lisa

Hey!
I am not sure of the piece but it may be worth checking the current Grade 5 Associated Board Syllabus at:
http://www.abrsm.ac.uk/clarinet.html
I don't think the syllabus has changed much so it may help.

Thanks Rob!
I did have a look at the Grade 5 listings there, but nothing rings any bells. For some reason, I'm leaning towards Crusell, I don't know why...if this might be any help.

Huh... I almost was thinking Cavallini's Adagio e Tarantella... except the first part is in common time, not 3/4. The triplets over many octaves fits the second half...
Maybe it's just 'cause I've been playing that one lately. =)
I hope you find the piece!

I do not think it was Cavallini's Adagio e Tarantella because Cavallini is certainly beyond Grade 5 Associated Board. In fact, quite a lot of music in Grade 5 Associated Board are arrangement not original clarinet music. So it is very hard to find it out.
