Rose 1 or 11 are good choices.
Have you thought about #19?

Tony...Any of the odd numbered etudes in the Rose 32 would be fine to demonstrate expressive, cantabile playing.

There are dozens of unaccompanied works for clarinet from the standard repertoire which will also accomplish the same objective.

One obvious example would be the first of the 3 Pieces for Clarinet Solo by Stravinsky. Although preferably played on A clarinet, this is an important work which should be studied and eventually be in your repertoire.

Playing unaccompanied works presents many different challenges. Good luck...GBK

I think Rose 19 is wonderful for demonstrating your expressive capability and control over the instrument

People want to hear the one you can play like you are having a good time.

Play the Stravinsky like GBK said. They are such a wonderful set of pieces. The Two Impromptus by Roger Steptoe are good fun aswell.

my teacher played the rose 19 at his mother's grave as a tribute to her. he couldn't finish it, and now i'm working on it. It's lovely.

he couldn't finish it because it was too emotional...my teacher still plays (this wasn't clear in the first message)

#15 is in b minor. If you can phase with confidence, this is a good one. Sing it, never rushing. #19 is really nice to. More techie. If that's where you'de like to go, great. But if you want to show off your melodic line, your phrasing, your sound, then do #15. People will remember those first notes each time they get played again.

They are really all fine, as has been said earlier. Good luck with whatever you chose to play.
