Has anyone ever had their instrument repaired at a place called the Band Instrument Service Company in St. Charles? I have to get my clarinet repaired, but I also need it done in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks for the help!

Carie...Igot my first clarinet at Band Instrument there in Harvester. Now I've gotten way past that first horn, but I'm still playing. I used to know everyone's name there, but time has made me forget. I believe that Gretchen is one of the Gals who used to work there.....blonde hair if I remember correctly.
Depending on the repair needed I think they will do good work. Just remeber to play the horn before you leave the store. Otherwise, I can reccomend them well.
What school do you go to. I went to Wentzvill High many years agao, lived in Lake St. Louis, now I'm in the West County area but get out to play with friends in the St. Charles Municipal band, or the O'Fallon Community band from time to time.
I wish you well

Carrie,
I've never used that shop so I can't give you any recommendation one way or another. "Depending on the work needed" is an important consideration. If the work is fairly basic, you might call and ask what their current turn-around is. Also, if the work is minor you might ask if you could bring it in and have the work done while you wait. Alot of places that do work for school districts are starting to get instruments in from the end of the school year. That can lead to significant backlogs. If you tell us just what kind of work you need done, we might be able to recommend alternatives if the turn-around is too long.
Best regards,
jnk
