right now I have a Protech double clarinet case for my buffet Bb and A R13's. I am planning on buying an Eb sometime in the future. I keep going back and forth on getting a single case for my Eb or getting a triple for all three. theres only a hand full of triple case i can find. does anyone know of a good triple case that is not big bucks and that will fit buffet R13's?

A friend has the LeBlanc triple case but it just seems kind of big and heavy. It is about $180 or so. Good luck!

I regularly play in a pit using 4 or 5 of the following: picc, flute, alto flute, clarinet, 4 sizes of sax. Should I get a case to fit all 8?

After "too many" years of carrying my double clarinet case to gigs requiring only my Bb, I am watching my eBay screen for a single A case. With a single A case to go along with my single Bb, Eb and C cases, I would then need only to pick the clarinets that I need for current job, put them in my Land's End tote bag and "hit the road." Very seldom do I need to play my A, Bb, Eb, and C on the same concert--and very often, I need only my Bb or my Eb. I can not imagine why anyone would want a triple case which requires the transport of three instruments at all times. If you insist on combining instruments, it might make more sense to have two double cases, the usual A-Bb case and an additional Eb-C case. Opps--what about the "frequently" used D clarinet??? After years of concertizing, it makes more sense to me to have single cases for each instrument--like my saxophone and flute families. Just my opinion bases on years of experiance--hope it gives some insight and help. But, in the final analysis, each person must do what works best for them. Good luck (lugging) and Good Clarineting!!

I'm a habitual triple-case user, but I've never had one I liked made by someone else. Have a go at creating your own. I've got one for day-to-day use made from a double-sided briefcase, (all 3 instruments go in one side & there's room for all my junk in the other) and one for touring, when I leave my instruments in the 'tender' care of our orchestra's porters, which is one of those square metal cases filled with high-density foam, cut to shape.

My "travel bag" for touring is a simple Tatonka Travel Bag4 soft cover case. It's the best bag I've ever had for fitting several single cases besides the usual A/Bb double case. I can carry it with the handle, strap or as a backpack. The cases are securely fixed with straps like in a suit case. Small enough for carry on luggage and big enough to fit what you ne...

There is a double Eb/Bb case. Look for it at WoodwindBrasswind. I forget who makes it...maybe WwBw themselves? maybe Leblanc? maybe Buffet?

Those black Gig cases.... I have no idea who makes them. They are quite thin though and very light and have kindof shiny black material on it.
Anyway, they do doubles and triple cases..... however. I have a BAM case ( the back pack one) and I guy I knew used to put his Eb bell inside his A bell and the Eb body fitted perfectly into the little space that the case has for your reeds and pencils and stuff. Not made for it, but secure all the same!
I can see what people are saying about not carrying all three of them round which is a good point if you are working, but if you are at music school there can be sevral things that you are doing during the day, such as Orchestra where you will most DEFINETLY need your A and possiblt chamber music where you might need your Eb. Plus people as you at last minute to dep for them, and if you don't have all three clarinets you are going to look unprepared and people won't ask you AGAIN!!!!!!

I use the Orly triple case sold in Muncy and IMS catalogs. The triple case is lighter than the Buffet attache double case. And tons lighter than the Leblanc triple case. It's about $300 but worth it if you do both orchestral playing and are the principal Eb clarinetist in a wind ensemble.
For a while i used the Selmer TrayPak (sax, flute and Bb clarinet) cases for alto and tenor sax when doing shows, but those cases were so heavy i sold them and got gig bags/cases for my saxes and cary my flute/picc, and tripple clarinet cases separate, it's more junk, but alot lighter overall.
