Well, hello all, this is my first post on this page but I have been reading for a while. I would like to recomend a new clarinet I just bought, I am sure you all have one but I just got a new R-13. But it is a greenline, I would like to say I hav never heard a more beautiful sound than the greenline, and I doint have to worry about oiling or cracking. It is a big relief, I play on a Pyne Mouthpiece as well as a pyne barrel,the Bonade ligatur, so I believe I am set to start my college music major now. I would like to ask if anyone recomends any jazz specific equipment. I am a student of Dr. Charles West, and am loving lessons from him, I was just taking some questions here as well from him. Well nice to listen to you all, cant wait for a responce, later.

The John Pierce mpc is used by a few jazz players. Very open - gets you out above the rest of the band for those Bennie solos. WW&BW, $57.00

How does the Greenline clarinet react to temperature changes-does it
take longer to warm up or what?
I,m intrigued ,cos I recently changed back to B&H 1010,s after 8 years on R13s(I,m really happy playing a larger bore instrument again)and I changed because the buffet kept cracking.Even a new top joint lasted about a year before it cracked-I was spending more on
getting it pinned than on reeds!My 1010 is 30 years old and I,ve had no trouble at all.
