I was listening to "Betrothal in a Monestary" when I noticed an extremely "cute" little (e flat) clarinet solo (sounded fiendishly difficult, too) with a weird tune in the trumpet - which I realised was a parody on "Stars and Strips". No doubt about the (ex) communist inspired composers - the irony. It occurs in Act Two. Beautiful clarinet writting throughout this hugely neglected opera.
