 Adjusting Fibracell Reeds
Author: Steve
Date:   2002-05-23 16:40

I heard a lot of good things about Fibracell reeds and bought a pair of medium strengths. One of them plays beautifully. In fact, it's one of the best reeds I've ever played on. The other reed, though, is stuffy. Can reeds from synthetic materials be adjusted like cane reeds, or are there other ways to work with them to make them play better?

Recall that someone said you could adjust them as well as cane. Check "search" under "Synthetic."

Steve,
A letter in the December 2001 issue of The Clarinet gives details on adjusting Fibercell reeds using the Reed Wizard.
