at the band concert. i played the first movement of the saint-saens sonata for clarinet...
and my teacher came to hear me (i really like him a lot...he's such a great guy and GREAT teacher! dr. miles ishigaki is his name...)
anyway, i did pretty dern well...some of the runs were a little choppy...but i loved playing it and i have time to clean up the runs
and i'm going to play it again in about 2 weeks or so. i'm so excited...i love the clarinet so much.
i love that piece so much

Good for you - though, I'm still trying to figure out what a choppy run is.

"Choppy", it's what you do to a japanese oboe instead of an onion.

Congrats on the solo. The Saint-saens is a wonderful piece. And since you're studying with Dr. Ishigaki, I assume that you're in or around Fresno; personally, I think you've found the best clarinet teacher in the Central Valley. I've been hearing his students for years, and they are always top-notch.

yep, i live in fresno (for now, i'm going to arizona for college this fall). his students that i have heard are just amazing...and so his teaching is also obviously great. he has helped me improve sooo much over the last month that i have been with him...and he makes playing the clarinet so much fun too:)
