Does anyone know anything about this woodwind maker? I think he stopped in about 1925.

I have a bass clarinet that says "Roberte, Paris", with a sign made of two mirrored R's, not completely unlike a French lily.

The piece plays great, seems pretty old, and I couldn't find any references to it.

A Robert is listed by Rendall as a maker, Paris, 1895-. I recall having seen an oboe and a clarinet by him in the past, believe they were of good quality, but from a "smaller" maker. Perhaps a "Forum Search" will have more info. Don

I have an A. Robert "A" clarinet (with an articulated g# key) that i used all through college and my 1st year in grad school. It's a decent instrument but plays a bit stuffy. Can't help you too much on the dates but mine is marked "LP" (low pitch) and looks like a 20's vintage.
