Thank-you to everyone who replied to my previous posting'Old Buffet.......' I've now decided to bite the bullet and buy a new R-13 instead of and E-13 now and upgrading in a couple of years,it seems sensible as there is only about £300 difference in price.I'll let you know how it goes. Mandy

Good Choice!!!!! However, try as many R13's as you can and pick the one that plays best for you. Order of importance: 1) Response and general tone quality from loud to soft; 2) Intonation; 3) Eveness of scale; 4) Texture of the wood and general quality of workmanship (gouges in the sockets, tone holes not finished cleanly, plating thin in spots, etc. Good Luck and Good Clarineting!!!!
