 Oiling a wooden clarinet
Author: Lindsay

How often should I oil a clarinet? I lived in central AZ and it is very dry here. Would once every two months be too much or not enough? Thank you for replying.

Send a note to Bob Spring down in Tempe, AZ -Robert.Spring@asu.edu . He should be able to tell you since he's a teacher in the area.

Mark:

You have the best answer to this problem. Find a local pro and find out what (s)he does for problems that are potentially unique to that area. Plus, the pro can show folks how to do things right the first time.

There's a major Oboe maker who will void the warranty of an Oboe that's bore has been oiled - they say that it actually makes them crack eaiser.
