Does anyone know of a Bass Clarinet mpc. that is good for marching, and plays loud easily? I currently use a Selmer C*, but i payed too much for it to risk getting broken on our gravel practice field.
Thanks--

Wm. - would like to know your choice, please! I'd suggest getting an inexpensive Bundy 3 and, if it's not satisfactory as such, have it refaced by D S or another qualified bass cl mp maker/refacer, which should give a nearly-equivalent Selmer C*. For what I play [comm band, musicals etc], the C* is my back-up to my glass GG's [Pomaricos!], carefully handled!! Don

R Simpson ... don't take this the wrong way, but GET OVER the mouthpiece worries and enjoy playing the clarinet. How the could you damage your mouthpiece by dropping it unless you're being careless? (and if that's the case it learn a lesson). I played on the school's bass clarinet it came with a mouthpiece, I purchased the reeds (of course) and just played it. I didn't give a fig about what the brand was. If you youngsters would spend more time worrying about playing than equipment you'd progress a lot quicker.
Oh my gosh - I'm a teenager, I've GOT to obsess about "equipment" or else I'm not "cool". Lesson in life, once you're in the real world your school peer group will be FAR behind you.
