I've been trying to identify this work. I believe it's part of a quintet by Mozart. Can anyone verify this, and recommend a good recording?

Was the snippet from the Mozart quintet performed on one of these "jewels"?

Yes, it is the Mozart Clarinet Quintet. Not a very good recording though! I have 2 CD's myself - one by Antony Pay and the other by Richard Stoltzman. I'm not saying that they are the best as opinions vary but worth listening to.

I'm pretty sure the recording is Stoltzman's.

But did you notice that these clarinets come with not one, but *two* reeds? That sweetens the deal considerably, i'd say! You should be set up for months--years, if you're careful not to break them!

Then again, in order to use the reeds for years, you would have to be able to actually play on one of those, which does not look promising. Though, one year a girl in ourchestra had a neon green one......
