For all you early music researchers. Here's a new item. Fresh off the press:
"American Memory at LOC Adds Two New Collections
The Library of Congress has added two new collections to
their site. Hope you can listen to these with Real Player or something
similar.. Amazing !
Emile Berliner and the Birth of the Recording Industry --
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/berlhtml/ . 400 items from the
Emile Berliner Papers and more than 100 Berliner sound
recordings. Recordings include spoken word, instrumentals,
band recordings, and tunes popular around the turn of the
century. Considering that these are Berliner Gramophone
recordings, many of which are over a hundred years old, the
sound is not too bad."
