 Pasquale Cardillo

Hi there,

I studied with Pasquale Cardillo at Boston Conservatory through the late-80's, and I've often wondered what happened to him (I'm assuming he's not around anymore, but I thought you might know).

I think he suffered a stroke the year after I left the Conservatory, which would have made me his last student I think. Consequently I just lost touch with him after moving away from Boston.

Thanks,

kim

He passed away several years ago. If you know Jonathan Cohler you might contact him as I'm pretty sure he would have more details.

Pasquale Cardillo was famed for using the most open mouthpiece with a 5 reed...the sound he had was maginificent and he was 2cd clarinet to gino Cioffi who was a player brought to the US by Toscannini. This generation of player seemed to possess a beauty of tone which isn't around anymore....he is on the famous Munch recording of Daphnis et Chloe. Gigliotti recently passed away sadly as well....
