Does anyone know anything about the composer Don Ransom?

A flute player friend and I have been working on two of his pieces, "Prelude and Samba" and "Pavanne" and we'd like to be able to share a little biographical information. All we've been able to find out is that he died in the late 70's from an allergic reaction to a bee sting, that he played clarinet on the background music for Gunsmoke and that he was a member of the LA chamber players.

Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
