You can't really tell a clarinet's age by just looking at it unless it is so old that it has some other key system than the Boehm or Oehler. Even then the older key systems were produced concurrently with the newer key systems for quite an overalapping period.

Proper or improper maintenance make all the difference in the appearance of age.

Case styles can give clues but many clarinets do not have their original case so it might be in a case much newer or older than the instrument itself.
