Hi, I have recently started a trio with a violist and pianist. We are planning to play the mozart trio on a recital, but could use another peice. We've played the bruch trio's and have really enjoyed them... any info on other peices for this instrumentation would be helpful....thanks!

There are many works for this combination as well as a great duo
by Rebecca Clarke: "Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale (1941)" for clarinet and viola (Oxford). The trios with which I'm familiar are:
C.Reinecke, Op. 264 (Cl. in A) [Simrock; International; Musica Rara). There's a listing for a Carl Reinecke Opus 274 pub. by
Mus9ca Rara, but I've never seen that one. The Robert Schumann Fairy Tales, OP. 132 [Br.u.H; C.Fischer; International). Doblinger has published a Trio by Alfred Uhl titled "Kleines Konzert" which
is another that I've never seen or heard. I think the Khachaturian Trio, published by Leeds, is an arrangement of the same work for Violin, Clar. & Piano, but I'm not certain about that. There's also an arrangement of the Beethoven, Op. 11 for Vla,Clar,Pno.
In one of my catalogs I note a Trio by Jacob published by Musica Rara, but I am not familiar with that work.
Hope this is of some help. The Rebecca Clarke Duo is outstanding.
You can find out more about her by searching the web under just her name. There is a Rebecca Clarke web-site sponsored by her many, many loyal devotees.
