Are mouthpieces made by the Woodwind Co. any good, or should it be replaced with something better? The reason I ask is because I just helped the parent of a new student purchase an instrument, and the mouthpiece that came with it (it was a 5-year-old Leblanc Vito which was sold for $275 CDN, in excellent condition) said Woodwind Co., which I have heard of: they still sell mouthpieces through Muncy.

Have heard a number of stories about mpcs that come with new horns.
I can't complain at all about the WW K10M that came with mine. I have tried several other mpcs none of which come close to this one.
Very free blowing, good tone. Highly recommend

I also have a WW K10M, which I use on my C, and I like it. People think I sound nice, but I'm playing folk music and a little jazz. I'm also not trained musically beyond high school, and am strictly an amateur who plays for fun (but I won't turn money down:-)
So I guess this mp is appropriate for someone like me. For a more serious player, I couldn't say.
WW mp's are made not by the WW and BW, but by Leblanc. I learned about the K 10M because it was the stock mp supplied with a Leblanc C clarinet I tried. Ended up buying a Patricola, but liked the WW mp so much I also bought that.

Or maybe they're just made for Leblanc, not by Leblanc. "www.gleblanc.com" is stamped on my mp.

The IMS catalog has quite a listing for WW Bb mps, from beginner to pro, prices are competitive. I have 3, [old] WW G8 and B7, and an NEMC with G8 on it, presume its WW-made as only them use this nomenclature. All play OK, not my best tho! Don

Before I closed up shop on my clarinet business I sold about 300 of these mouthpieces for a local dealer who got them stock on Leblanc clarinets. They're better than most stock mouthpieces, but not as good as one of the hand-mades like Bays and Smiths. I've recommended the K10M to many parents for their kids as a step-up from some of the standard ones.
The Woodwind Co. is part of the Leblanc Co. and their mouthpieces are in the Leblanc catalogue.
