I have an older Selmer Series 9 Paris Bb clarinet, serial #S0900 in excellent playing condition. I would like more info about this instrument, including year and value. Thank you.

Check and see if there is a * under the Series Nine name. There are two variations of the 9, a regular straight cylindrical bore and the 9* which was Selmer's first polycylndical bore clarinet (ala the Buffet R13) Both were professional quality instruments. You're was made in the early 60s. There is a serial number list elsewhere on Sneezy that will pinpoint it to the exact year. I've been playing a 9* for the last 27 years.... outstanding clarinet.

On eBay, I'd expect an excellent example to go for between 500-800.
