If it is true, i would think Leblanc would be pretty ticked off after designing the 'Symphonie VII' for him.

Yes for a fact Ricardo is playing Buffet. I just saw, and hung out with him at ClarFest (we are both artists for Grand Concert). He also liked the new Jimmy Yan Barrel, and may be playing it.
I hear Leblanc does not know how to treat their people well.

contact information?

Ricardo is playing Greenline Festivals. I go to school with Sean Osborn (2nd clarinet in the Met) and he's confirmed this. As for barrels..... who knows!

Why is Ricardo playing the Greenline instead of a wood Festival? Does anyone know?

paul,
I'm going to hazard a guess, and it all has to do with advertising. If in fact material doesn't matter, why not have a well-respected & reknown performer prove it!

Mark:
material doesn't matter at all? according to
Luis Rossi, the rosewood and cocobolo seems to
be less resistent and make playing easier than
blackwood, and there are subtle difference in
sound too....

The bore dimensions and roughness characteristics do make a difference; however, the material per se has not been shown to make any difference; in fact, the converse has been shown.
Most of what you read in advertising literature is pure hype.

I agree with Mark on this one. Don't be a sucker and believe all the stuff you read in those ads.
P.T. Barnum of Barnum and Bailey Circus lived on the premise that "a sucker is born every minute." And he was a rich man.

here's a thought experiment...
construct a silicone pair of lips with tensioning devices to simulate muscles. attach this to an air cavity about the volume of the interior of larry comb's mouth. in the air cavity, have a properly positioned silicone tounge and false teeth. Around the air cavity, shape an anthropomorpphic head, like a crash test dummy, except fill the cranial cavity with a polymeric material about the weight and density of a clarinettist's brain, and carve sinuses near the nose and eyes.
Now, using a Vandoren 3.5 V-12 and a Mattson refaced Cicero Kaspar mp with a reverse bonade lig with the center strip cut out, attach any number of clarinets with an optimally matched moenning barrel to the artificial clarinettist. Use a compressor to blow enough air through to get a good sounding open g. record the the air flow velocity at the inlet (l/min), and repeat this experiment with clarinets from all sorts makers made out of all sorts of material. Measure resistance (back pressure, use a transducer of some sort) at the constant air flow, adjust the tensioning devices on the silicone lips to optimal tone production, and hire a panel of experts to determine the most pleasing open g.
I predict you will find no consistency of results.
:)..s,

Not thought. Been done (in most of the ways you've described) in Benade's lab when he was with us ...

Ricardo would probably still sound good if he was playing on pcv pipes. Would we all rush out to our local hareware stores to try to match his sound and technique rather than hitting the practice rooms a bit more regularly??

I don't see why ask a proper question to Mark
would result in a insult by Mr. fat Albert by
calling me a "sucker". I don't believe everything
in advertisement and I know some of the information
is true and some is not, but sometimes we all have
problem of distinguishing them and therefore I ask
the question. So what is your problem Mr. Fat Albert?
is that mean you never believe anything in the
advertisement that is not true, or you simply think
all the things in advertisement is false?

Ricardo likes more resistance from the setup. The Greenline has a little more resistance then the "all wood" clarinet.
