My sister, who is anything but a classical music aficionado, never misses a Pops concert on PBS because she has such a crush on him. Me, I don't get it, but, as they say, "different strokes..."

Boy, you don't check the BBoard for a few hours, and all of a sudden you get a posting like this one ... ;^)

Check this article out. It tells you who he is - conductor for the Boston Pops Orchestra and has a picture.

He is kinda goodlooking....
But alas a year older than my parents and that makes the concept rather weird. Besides, I have a wonderful fiancee that I think I will stick with.

I would ask what does this have to do with clarinet? But, then someone would point out that Keith Lockhart is a clarinet player...

This is by far the most amusing thread I have read for ages. If I was a chick I guess he is quite ok, although he looks like he is getting on. Could he hack the pace?

The picture on the web page is an older one. Here is a more recent pic of Keith. Looks like the job must be getting to him!

Well said Mark.
The board certainly has personality. As a matter of fact it has more personality than a 2yo terrier with A.D.D. Anyhow that guy sure is hot to trot (foxtrot that is).

Ummm.... no. Not to my knowledge (though knowing this board I should probably check first but I don't have time.) With what I know about her, Sarah Brightman is an incredible vocalist, and former wife of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Look, people, if you're completely humorless then please ignore threads like this, and for gawds sake don't post to them.
If you want to run your own BBoard please do so, but don't run this one.

Man, what is up?
For once we get a funny and refreshing thread, let's enjoy it.
I'm sure we'll get back to which mouthpiece to choose and why reeds are so bad....

He is also a good example of knowing what you want, and going for it. What was it?...........136 resumes?
Lindsey....you must be a "baby", and with a fiancee already.
Oh, to be young.

In a congressional hearing, Alan Greenspan admitted that he was a tenor sax player and a bass clarinet player.

"Excuse me Mr. Lockhart, could you turn around and raise your arms?"
"Oooo.... you're hired!"
Want to bet his hair sleeps on a nightstand and he kicks his dog?
At least they're giving something for the Mommies (and some Dads).
Roll over, Fritz Reiner (whoever he was).

I'm not that much of a baby, I'm 20 years old and as of next week I'll be a junior in college.
My parents are just young, too, is all. They had both just turned 21 when I was born. They were both born in '60.

And if you don't think appeal has something to do with hiring and with longevity at a very public job ... then I suggest that you might want to come to planet Earth for a visit ...

Diz, I actually like this thread. It's a vacation from 'what kind of clarinet, reed, etc, should I buy'. Don't you think?

The Boston Pops guy is 12. When he reaches puberty he might be attractive.

dijeridoo. Or dijeridu. Or in some cultures, some other name completely. Where I live, it's known as '6 foot long PVC pipe'

Wow, I was born the same year as someone with a 20 year old daughter. Thanks for making me feel old! What makes it even worse is that you'll probably be getting married before I do, despite the fact that you're young enough to be my daughter!
Oh, well, back to practicing. (Maybe that's why I'm still single: too much time clarinetting.)
