I WANT A REED WIZARD!!! HELP!!
Author: John Gibson

Mark...et all...etc.
I have decided to buy a reed wizard, but when I click on the sponsor all it does is takes me to the "sponsor" page again.

How do I get in touch with the sponsor?

AND....has anyone used the machine and what do you think? I really want to turn all these old "guys" into "new"....or at least duplicate my "good" reed many times over......(is that even possible?)

Can I take a Vandoren V-12 strength 3 and turn it into a Mitchell Lurie 2 1/2? A Vandoren 3 1/2 and make it a M.L. 2 1/2?

Is it worth the money to buy a reed wizard? Or am I involved in another clarient "pipe dream?"

Again how do I get in touch with the Reed Wizard (of Oz)....thanks

John

I'm in the middle of changing names over. The sponsor's page has been updated but not the site name. Wait a few more hours.

(brief posting- i'm in a real rush)
the RW can improve some reeds if used properly
it will not perform magic
it CAN help make the most of the cane that is there
it can NOT ADD cane that isn't there
so if what is wrong with the reed is that there is too much cane
then it is useful
provided what is there is of good quality!
um yeah
i'm off

I wouldn't mind having a Reed Wizard. I just don't think his whole beard would fit in my case.

I bought a Reed Wizard at ClarinetFest in New Orleans--I
love mine. I use it on my Bb reeds and my altoClarinet reeds.
Maybe some of the improvement is just placebo, but with reeds
I'll take whatever I can get! Michael

I bought my wizard at ClarinetFest 2000 in Oklahoma. I'm glad that
I have it. I do have to say that I don't use it as often as I
originally thought I would. Some of the reeds that come out of the
box need only minor adjustments to make them balanced. I do those
manually with sand paper. However, the reeds that I try to work on
myself that just don't seem to be getting any better tend to get
put on the wizard. For the most part, there is improvement in my
reeds when I use the wizard. It has been a useful tool. And
chatting with Ben Armato was a treat in itself.

Good clarinetting!

Kristen Denny
