Does anyone have any recommendations for good arrangements of traditional Christmas music using clarinet, either as a solo voice or as part of an ensemble (wind quintet, clarinet quartet, clarinet choir, etc.)? Western Michigan University rotates its Holiday Concert amongst the various areas, and the next one features the woodwinds. It may be too early to think about this, but there are some parts of Michigan that are expecting snow today!

I have a few really great ones by Hal Leonard. The books have 15-20 of the most popular Christmas carols for Bb clarinet.

Brad,
You've probably already checked out the catalogs but, just in case, Luyben's shows a number of pieces for clarinet quartet and clarinet choir by Bill Holcombe and by Lenny Niehaus. I haven't seen any of them but they are probably a cut above average. Holcombe has also done an arrangement of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" for wind quintet.
Also for wind quintet, "Christmas Carols" by Miller (simple but IMHO useful formula arrangements of traditional Christmas Carols). You could also use any or all of the "Eight Russian Folksongs" by Liadov (the second movement is entitled "Christmas Carol" but many of the other movements have an Eastern Orthodox Chant feel to them -- Music Masters Publications).
For a solo work (if you have organ or piano accompaniment available), "And He Shall Feed His Flock" from the Messiah can be moving (Stoltzman has recorded it).
Finally, if all else fails, there are tons of appropriate music for recorder quartet (and larger recorder ensembles) that should be quite effective for a clarinet ensemble if transposed. (Heck, you have enough time between now and Christmas to teach your clarinet students enough recorder to play a couple of pieces as a change of pace.)

Over the years, there's been many "Sleigh Rides" written. One we played was the orriginal, I guess, by Mozart. We played it sans the brasses to let them rest their chops and it was cool. Will try and find the publisher for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will probably only have one clarinet feature on the program, and I was trying to narrow down the possibilities (there are a lot of choices out there...)
