does anyone here use a Johnston mouthpiece? I bought a Vandoren 5RVL13 a few days ago and if I rememeber right, I liked the articulation and response of the Johnston mouthpiece better. So I'm going to sell the 5RV (my teacher is taking care of this for me, thankfully) and I am going to send in an order for the Johnston "W" style mouthpiece. Does anyone else here have anything to say on these mouthpieces?
I'm really excited for it...
I also bought a Vandoren Optimum ligature but it's on backorder:(

I have never used a Vandoren 5RVL13, but I do use a Johnston "w" mouthpiece. I am very satisfied with the articulation and response. (I have played on Johnstons for about two years.) I also use a Vandoren optimum ligature with mine and it seems to work very well for me. I hope that you enjoy playing on yours.

I have played on a Johnston J facing since high school. So for about six years. It's great! I'm going to be ordering his Eb and bass clarinet mouthpiece soon, too. And possibly another J facing Bb as a back up.
