here's a thought experiment...
construct a silicone pair of lips with tensioning devices to simulate muscles. attach this to an air cavity about the volume of the interior of larry comb's mouth. in the air cavity, have a properly positioned silicone tounge and false teeth. Around the air cavity, shape an anthropomorpphic head, like a crash test dummy, except fill the cranial cavity with a polymeric material about the weight and density of a clarinettist's brain, and carve sinuses near the nose and eyes.
Now, using a Vandoren 3.5 V-12 and a Mattson refaced Cicero Kaspar mp with a reverse bonade lig with the center strip cut out, attach any number of clarinets with an optimally matched moenning barrel to the artificial clarinettist. Use a compressor to blow enough air through to get a good sounding open g. record the the air flow velocity at the inlet (l/min), and repeat this experiment with clarinets from all sorts makers made out of all sorts of material. Measure resistance (back pressure, use a transducer of some sort) at the constant air flow, adjust the tensioning devices on the silicone lips to optimal tone production, and hire a panel of experts to determine the most pleasing open g.
I predict you will find no consistency of results.
