Does anyone know where I could find a list of the top 20 pieces for clarinet? If you know of such a list please email it to me at Kenyattis.Surratt@furman.edu or send me the URL. Thanks
Ken

You might check the web sites of some of the major colleges and universities with strong clarinet performance departments to see what each of their suggested repertoire lists and audition lists look like.

I don't think that you will ever find a "top 20" list as such - but each institution will usually have a list of what they consider the important works for clarinet to be studied during a 4 year undergraduate period.

By comparing a number of schools, you may be able to find a rough consensus, and thus make your own list..GBK

The following link has a rather extensive list, many more than 20.

The Ithica listing failed to mention the "Clarinet Polka." Must have been an oversight. Good Clarineting!!!!!!

Obviously the "Clarinet Polka" transcends such lists! ;^)

Good clarineting indeed!

Certainly the Clarinet Polka has to be among the top 20 most popular..even if not most refined.

Someone should analyze Bilk's setup and market it as a clarinet-sop.sax conversion kit.

Hey Ken this is Crystal remember me?

I depends on what level of playing you want.

Brahms, Mozart, von Weber, Poulenc, are probably the most popular in the bunch...at least that's all I can think of right now.
