I believe that Phil Muncy has and sells a disc of a remastering of an old recording of Bob Listokin's. Quite a find, that disc.

Michael Collins plays it on 'Virtousi'- EMI Classics.

Colin Bradbury rings a bell for a good clar/piano recording. There's also a concert band recording of it using the standard Snavely arrangement on the USAF Heritage of America Band CD "Golden Age". Email me and I can shoot you a free copy of that one.

i have an old recording of Ullysses Delecluse (sorry, i think i spelt the first name incorrectly) playing this, to demonstrate Selmer Clarinets.... his tone is pretty shocking, but his fingers and legato are great. The interpretation is pretty straightforward.

Does anybody know anything about the victoria soames recording--that one seems to be the most marketed right now?

I have a copy of Victoria Soames CD with a lot of the Solo de Concours on it. I have Colin Bradbury also. Both are good examples of the piece. I happen to like Mr. Bradbury's tone better. The overtones he produces in his sound are easier for me to listen to.

Most recently, Martin Powell did a nice rendition of the Messager on his first CD "son et lumière".

A few months ago he was promoting his CD by offering a complimentary copy to all who inquired. (however a small donation, I'm sure would be most appreciated)

His email address is: POWELLM397@aol.com ...GBK
