Can anyone recommend any good clarinet/saxophone duets? Preferably with alto or tenor sax and something kind of "showy" and fun.... Thanks for your help!

Wendy, I used to play Bb Clarinet with a friend who played alto sax. We found that there were only a small number of selections arranged especially for sax and clarinet, but there are many duets arranged for two saxophones. We used to play a lot of those duets for Eb alto and Bb tenor saxophones, with me playing the tenor sax part on my Clarinet.

If you want to play Clarinet along with a tenor sax, Clarinet duets may not work, because the Clarinet can play lower written notes than a tenor sax. This means the tenor sax may not be able to play some of the notes as they are written. So try some duets for two tenor saxes, and just play one part on a Bb Clarinet. I'm sure they'll work out fine for you.

And please let us know how you're doing.

Regards,
John
