It is reported now that Boosey & Hawkes will sell its music publishing arm to Music Sales Group, who fought off competition from three other bidders to acquire the rights to many well known 20th Century composers. Music Sales Group includes about a dozen publishers/sellers worldwide such as Bosworth Musikverlag [Germany], MusicRoom.com-The Internet Music Shop [UK], Music Sales Pty [Australia], Shawnee Press [USA], and Sheet Music Direct [UK & USA]. No word on the ultimate disposition of the musical instrument manufacturing side of B & H.

Music Sales also owns G. Schirmer. Pretty soon there is just going to be one music publisher.
