I would really like to take a college music class this summer, either in theory or history. I think I've looked at the web sites of every college in the Northeast US and the only ones who offer music classes don't have a residential program for high school students. Is there anywhere with both the classes and the high school program that isn't too brutally expensive? I want to major in music history in college and I'd like to try to start a little ahead.
I'm an alternate for the NYSSSA Saratoga program. Maybe I'll get in, but probably not (I was an alternate last year too).
Thanks,
Micaela

Great to hear you're wanting to major in Music History - GBK's a bit of a music historian and his postings (on history related matters anyway) are always erudite, edifying and very informative.
I think it's a great career move and you might end up as a librarian for a major orchestra - it's certainly a good starting point!
Good luck with your studies
