 Repair/restoration help requested

Could anyone suggest a good repair/restoration place in NYC? I have a 1951 Pruefer that is in decent condition but could use some new cork, pads and a serious cleaning (it just doesn't sound right). I know there are lots of shops here but if anyone knows of a good place that won't fleece me, I'd appreciate it.
If you don't know a good place but could give me advice on what to look for, i.e what makes a good repair shop, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.

I'm interested, as well. I have two repair people locally who can work on student instruments just fine, but I am willing to ship my personal (buffet, mostly) clarinets to a top-notch repair person. My repair person retired recently. I've had some recommendations, but want your opinions. Pro's please! I'm in the greater Philadelphia, PA area (for emergencies) and would ship out of state. Thanks, Sandra

Sandra...I've had my R-13's worked on by Tomoji at WW and BW in NYC.
His work is highly recommended, and (if it means anything at all) his client list is a "who's who" of the clarinet world.

Call Jonathon to set up shipping details - of course only ship your instrument on a Monday or Tuesday so it does not sit overnight on the weekend, and enclose details of any specific items that you feel may need extra attention.

When the instrument is completed, I would travel into NYC to pick it up / play test / and see if any final adjustments are needed for your specific touch.

At last count I have had 5 of my R-13's done at WW and BW, and have been extremely happy. No problems at all to report.

Todd...You may also propose your original question to the folks at WW and BW as well, to see if they will do the work that you have in mind...GBK
