What is the difference between the two tuners & is the CA30 suitable for tuning clarinets?

I don't think there is much difference. But for sure, the CA-30 is great for clarinets.

I use the ca20. No complaints, and the price is great. 2 things about accuracy though, I use my old 440 tuning fork to verify its operation, and that's because the ca20 gets wildly inaccurate when the battery is weak.

the CA30 is wonderful. I just got mine about a month and a half ago. No complaints. I might add that it is sturdy. (our bass trombone player has nocked it off my stand a couple of times, and it is fine). Also it tunes both my Bb and bass clarinets as well as my friend's piccolo.

The Korg CA20 is a guitar tuner

I have the Korg CA-30 which is the chromatic tuner. I think the CA-20 is slightly cheaper but is a guitar tuner. In other words, it only tunes to concert E, A, D, G, B and E which isn't all that helpful for clarinet! The extra few dollars for the CA-30 are well worth it.

I use the CA-30 to tune my clarinet, my acoustic guitars and my electric guitar. It has only an input jack - no output jack - for the electric guitar. It works very well for all of my instruments.

A great thing about the tuner is its small compact size. It fits into my clarinet case. After I got one as a Xmas present, the other clarinet players in my orchestra rushed out to buy one. We use it constantly during rehearsal. All of us have knocked it off of the stand onto the floor. So far, the top has snapped off but no permanent damage.

I have both...the CA20 is chromatic, as is the CA30. Both will work very well for clarinet. The advantage of the CA30 is that it actually will sound a pitch for you to match. You can choose any note you want. It also has the "virtual" needle match display. I got the CA30 for $17.00 at a recent convention, so the price is certainly right!
