despite being a fellow nzer i have little admiration for Kiri Tekanawa.... but she's a lot more famous than me i guess.
as a clarinet player i am interested in the articulations of other instruments, and have found the Baroque flute playing of Wilbert Hazelzet stunning and inspiring- to try and match his articulation (not just for speed but for style) on the clarinet has improved my playing no end. Also Michael Schneider on Recorder playing Telemann with Musica Antiqua Koln- wow!
the Cello is also a good instrument to listen to- so different from the clarinet, so much to learn, so many ideas! i confess that i listen to Rostropovich and imagine how the clarinet could be more like his playing!
