Hi everyone!
I am looking for a bass clarinet case that goes on the back, that wont weigh too much and wont cost so much either. I know only of BAM cases, is there any others?
Michal.

Check International Music Suppliers or Woodwind Brasswind. Both have websites. Are you planning to use it so you can ride a bike? Also, do you have a bass clarinet that comes apart? That will make a difference in the style of case you purchase.

I recently check out a new Buffet Prestige 1193-2 basss clarinet to audition for a few weeks, and the case has back-pac strapes that can be tucked away when not being used. It is light-weight and roomy--but your bass must be one that can be diassembled at the middle joint, not like the one-piece Bundy Resonites.
Also, you may want to check with Alteri case covers--they make lots of different models for all instruments. Hope this helps--Good Clarineting!!!!!

Wiseman also makes bass clarinet cases that can be carried on the back. They are heinously expensive (I just bought one for my bassoon, and I just about had to sell my kidneys on the black market to pay for it), but they're gorgeous, unique, functional, and take up a minimal amount of space for a maximum amount of storage. Check them out
