 Gregory Smith at IMS
Author: Alta
Date:   2002-03-18 16:37

I had gone to the IMS clinic some months back on the Alexander technique and it was very good. Unfortunately, I missed Larry Combs several months ago but did get to this past Saturday's clinic with Gregory Smith. Wow, was I impressed!

I was surprised at how it went - I had thought he would play more than he did. But it didn't matter. He talked about finding your own musical voice, how he found his, and the spiritual part of music. He said things that people generally don't talk about publicly but things that touched my heart. He answered some very practical questions as well and played the beginning of Debussy's Premiere Rhapsody.

All in all, well worth listening to this fine gentle man.
