Does anyone know if Selmer produced an A clarinet in the Series 9* configuration?

Mark,
Selmer definitely produced a Series 9* in A, but it is very difficult to find on the marketplace

Watch eBay more closely--I seem to remember seeing one about three weeks ago. I just had my Selmer 9* Bb completely overhauled and it plays very well--in spite of failing the "wall test" many years ago. Quite similar, as a matter of fact, to my LeBlanc Concert Bb. Hmmm........I wonder if Tom Ridenour every played on a 9*.......... Good Clarineting!!

I've weened myself from watching eBay too much... too may clarinets and saxophones!!! I've played on my 9* since 1971 and still love it. Think I'll set up an automatic search.

Mark - I did some checking into the 9* A clarinet. Yes, Selmer made this instrument. I inquired as to how many were imported into the U.S but Selmer could not answer that question. Stephane correctly states that the 9* is difficult to find on the used instrument marketplace. I was told by Selmer that the Series 9 A clarinet and the 9* A clarinet had similar bore dimensions and therefore have similar playing characteristics. You may try locating a Series 9 A clarinet.
