Just spoke via AT&T with mouthpiece maker Gregory Smith--who "moonlights" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as their
second clarinetist--and I thought that you all would appreciate a reminder for his upcoming clinic, this coming Sat morning (3-16) at 11:00, at the International Musical Suppliers store in Des Plaines, IL. He will be giving a one-hour master class in performance and said he would have one sample of each of his 5 mouthpieces along for individuals to try after the presentation as time permits (via a sign-up sheet). You might want to call ahead to reserve a seat--their presentation room isn't that large. 1-800-762-1116 ex 233.

You might try one of his new rosewood mouthpieces he's making for Patricola.
I have a Grenadilla wood one that I really love.

A small clarification. Greg tells me that 1 hardwood mouthpiece will be available to audition but not in rosewood at that particular time. For those that play the Patricola Bb/A/C clarinets made from rosewood though, he does make a matching mouthpiece exclusively for those instruments of exactly the same hardwood but in very limited supply.
