 What's causing this?....

First off, hello everyone. The other day I got my clarinet out during band rehersal and began playing. It was really strange because my clarinet was really flat! this has never happened before. I might have a few i deas what might be causing this but I don't think they would but,1:I just started learing the oboe, could that have affected my embochure(sp?)(which I don't think I will continue)2:My clarinet has not had an adjustment or check-up in almost year. 3:could their be a leak? it's the entire range that's affected though. This might be helpfull it's an E11, I tried diffrent reeds of diffrent strengths and it didn't help, my mouthpiece isn't warped. I don't know what's wrong so I'm taking it up to the local music shop soon, hopefully they can find the problem and fix it really cheaply. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The temperature of the room may affect your tuning somewhat. Was the band room much cooler or warmer than usual? Just a thought.

First thing you should have done is swap instruments with another clarinettist. That will tell you immediately whether the problem is you or your instrument.

I just thought of this: Maybe i'm thinking of oboe embochure whilre playing clarinet and not keeping my lips firm because i really had to squeeze my lips to keep in tune

There should be no problem with the oboe embouchure affecting the clarinet embouchure. Look for a reed holder stuck in the clarinet bore or else take it to your repair person. Good luck.

Maybe everyone else was playing sharp and you were perfectly in tune :)

Is it the reed too soft?
